Arizona Clinic Info

Arizona Clinics are held at Harry’s ranch in Salome, Arizona (about

1 1/2 hours northwest of Phoenix.)

 

GENERAL INFO

Each clinic will be limited to six riders.

 

Auditors always welcome!

 

CLINIC PRICING  **UPDATE**

Rider/Horse: $1,400 for the 5-day clinic (5 days, 6 nights lodging). Includes 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and dinner on Sunday and Friday evenings. Includes board/hay for one horse.  Additional horses: $50 per week. $200 for rental of a horse for use in clinic.

 

Auditors: $500 for the 5-day clinic - 5 days, 6 nights lodging (no deposit needed). Includes 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and dinner on Sunday and Friday evenings.

 

Day auditor: $50 per day. Includes breakfast and lunch.

 

These fees apply whether you use our housing or your own.

 

FOR THE HORSES

A health certificate, no older than thirty days, and a current (within one year) negative

Coggins Test are necessary in order to cross the Arizona state border with horses.

 

There is a covered mare motel, 3 large turnouts with electric fencing, a round pen and

a large arena. There are miles of open BLM land with trails around the ranch to enjoy.

 

If your horse is barefoot you may want to bring protective foot gear as some areas are rocky (round pen and arena are sandy footing).

 

BUNKHOUSE

The bunkhouse features a large community dining area, two full bathrooms, and a full kitchen with a second refridgerator for the use of students. The bunkhouse sleeps 9 in four bedrooms (single beds, double beds, bunkbeds) and the cottage sleeps 8. Please bring sheets, blankets, pillows, & towels. If you are flying in, linens will be provided. Washer and dryer on premises.

 

Priority in the bunkhouse is given to the riders, then auditors. However - We will make every effort to arrange accommodations for you to stay at Harry’s Ranch!

 

RV’S AND CAMPERS

Hookups to water and electric available at the ranch. The bunkhouse kitchen, bathrooms/showers and washer & dryer will be available to campers.

 

Also Salome is minutes away, and there are several RV parks.

 

SALOME has two gas stations, one grocery store, a laundromat, post office, restaurants and a motel -  Westward Motel (206) 610-3516.

 

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED

E-mail Sue@harrywhitney.com (preferred) or call Sue at (765) 339-4826 and a Reservation Form will be sent to you by e-mail as soon as the scheduled weeks are posted. Spaces are filled in the order they are received.

 

Please return your Reservation Form by US Mail, along with a $200 deposit no later  than the date noted in the return e-mail you will receive. IMPORTANT- please note the due date, there will be no reminders! No deposit needed for auditors, but reservations are needed.

 

FLYING IN

"A Taxicab Service" of Wickenburg, Az transports passengers from Phoenix Airport Center to Harry's ranch in Salome. Call them at (928) 684-1500.

DIRECTIONS

Take Hwy 60 to Salome, turn south on Salome Road/Navajo Street (look for I-10 signs). Travel 0.3 miles, then turn right onto Harquahala Road - look for the Salome Self-Storage sign (at night, the road can be hard to see, go slow). Continue on Harquahala Road for 2.7 miles (the road will turn from pavement to dirt). Harry’s ranch is on the left, look for the American flag and a sign bearing the name “Whitney”.
